Music designed for chronic pain, insomnia, and migraine using EEG.

Discover music specifically composed to alleviate chronic pain, help with insomnia, and soothe headaches based on electroencephalogram (EEG) technology. This innovative approach uses research on brainwave patterns to create soothing songs to help manage healing.

Dr. Minton has partnered with world-class acoustic guitarist, Peppino D'Agostino, in the creation of this album. Learn more about Peppino at http://www.peppinodagostino.com, or listen to him on Spotify.

Customized Music Eases Pain and Isolation

Music therapy enhances mental health and reduces pain

The image below shows the brain's activity before listening to music, with yellow, orange, and red areas indicating excess brainwaves. These colors represent heightened neural activity in various regions of the brain.

The next image shows that listening to music can lead to fewer excess brain waves, which is associated with a report of less pain. This suggests that music has a calming effect on the brain, potentially offering a non-invasive way to manage pain.

How about sleep?  Here's a picture of the sleep network before and after listening to one song from “Calm the Storm.”   The first image shows Delta waves. Having adequate delta is important for sleep. Blue means there is not enough delta.

After listening to one song from “Calm the Storm”, delta has significantly normalized. The volunteer reported feeling very relaxed after listening.
